Friends of Unity November Blog Hop

Welcome back to another fun Friends of Unity Blog Hop! This month’s theme aligned with my need to create some thank you notes…which I did under the guise of -

I had a lot of fun using a few Unity Autumn themed stamp sets, Autumn patterned papers, Unity sentiment dies and 6 different tags! I had just a few cute papers from the set, Thankful and Blessed Pumpkins, that I think was gifted as an add-on to one of the membership kits. Finally, I decided this was the fall to use them!  I also used paper from Plant a Garden. The kits I used were: Chic Script Salutations (retired die set), Golden Glow (10/23 membership), Newsprint Floral Greetings, Tree of Gratitude, Embrace the Change, Thankful and Grateful Fall, Change and Direction (10/22 membership), and finally, I think, Season of Inspiration.

I created the THANKS tag using a Graphic 45 tag which I colored and stamped using oxide inks and a blending brush and then stamping leaves all over it. I die cut, using an old die set, a pair of leaves out of the paper, inking the edges and backed the THANKS with another gifted paper. I added a brown chipboard leaf, brown ribbon and enamel dots to complete it.

I used a brayer and acrylic paints, along with paint spatters on the second tag. Once dried, I added stenciled cream paste stripes. I stamped leaves all over and the word GRATITUDE. I created a small tag out of another paper and stamped and fussy cut more leaves. I added ribbon, the sentiment and enamel dots to complete this one.

For the next tag, I cut more paper down and striped the tag with that and burlap paper. I stamped the sentiment on leaf stamped coffee stained paper and backed it with Unity paper. I added some fussy cut ephemera and green twine to finish this one.

I used a brayer and oxide inks to color the next tag. Again, I stamped leaves and dotted branches all over. I added a Unity paper, a sticky strip and Washi tape on the bottom. I then used some rub-ons to add florals, added the die cut sentiment, and finished the tag with ribbons.

For the fifth tag, I first added color with ink blending. I then stamped a branch directly on the tag. I stamped several other branches on regular Bristol paper using a combo of inks and fussy cut them out. I added another strip of patterned paper, gold Washi, a vellum backed sentiment, twine and crystals.

The  sixth tag was pretty easy to create with more Unity and burlap patterned paper, a sentiment and ribbon.

So, again, I stamped leaves all over the final tag, adding some color and branches by hand with pens. I spattered copper ink all over. I created another small tag with the patterned paper to back the sentiment. I used Washi tape and sticky strips for embellishment and completed the tag with ribbon.

Overall, theses are not works of art, but I think I can use them to carry a quick message of thanks.

Now, not planned, but when I was cleaning up, I finally opened another add-on gift from a recent membership kit. I found more tag inspiration… this time Christmas. These were easy as I just fussy cut out the images and sentiments, cut down the included papers and used a die to create snowflakes. I added crystals, Washi tape and twine to complete them. This was a really cute freebie, must admit!

Okay…no longer Unity based, I was on a tear now to create more tags using up all sorts of paper scraps, Washi tape, ribbons and twine, tags and embellishments. I have collected too much holiday ephemera and papers, that will never make a card, as it’s not really my style. What better way to get rid of it… but still use it! I think this worked out pretty well. Some are cuter than others, but I don’t think they’re any worse or better than the tags you buy in the store! Clearly, I had a lot of energy…🥴🤣!

So… lots of inspiration for tags here and along the rest of the hop. Check out all the beauties created by my crafty friends!

Before we continue on, I’d like to congratulate
