Welcome back summer and the Friends of Unity hoppers! Hope you are enjoying some nice weather! This month our focus is on stencils!
I used the opportunity, this month, to create an anniversary card for my husband as 2 days ago we celebrated our 38th year anniversary… a major achievement! And still very happy!
I started by embossing the image from Unity’s Thoughts From the Past using Seth Apter green powder on watercolor paper. I stamped the image from Get Your Happy On using a combo of distress yellow and green inks on another piece of watercolor paper. I watercolored the image using my Schmincke watercolors. I then used my Prismacolor pencils to deepen the shades. I fussy cut out the image and turned back to the background paper.
I then used a stencil with Altenew paste and added some X’s and O’s. I pulled out a few sprays in green and gold and a yellow stain and started added color to the background, using a water spritzer to move the color around. Once it was completely dried I lined up the stencil and added more paste.
I found a packet of gold sparkly windows, a scrap paper I had added watercolor to that matched, and some patterned paper. Bringing them all together, I added a sentiment from another Unity kit, a gold brad and some enamel dots and called it done!
Thank you for stopping by, and now, on to the rest of the hop! You may have arrived here from
